Of all the different Antarctica destinations, the most accessible and popular to visit is the Antarctic Peninsula. To maximize your time in Antarctica and have the chance to get into the sea ice, we suggest a trip across the Antarctic Circle. A trip to South Georgia and the Falkland Islands is a must for any wildlife lovers. Fly the Drake or One-way Fly / One-way Sail the Drake departures are the shortest trips we offer. The Weddell & Ross Seas are very remote and heavily iced with the Ross Sea having a strong historical element. A visit to an Emperor Penguin colony is a rare once in a lifetime opportunity.

How do you get to the Antarctic Peninsula?

Sailing by ship two days across the Drake Passage from Ushuaia, Argentina. There is also the option of flying across the Drake Passage from southern Chile to King George Island to embark the ship.

What is the best destination for wildlife?

While all Antarctica voyages will offer the chance to see a lot wildlife, hands down the best destination to see the most wildlife is South Georgia Island.

Is it better to sail or fly across the Drake Passage?

This is a question we get a lot so we have dedicated a blog post to the pros and cons of each. Click here to view the details.

Will I see emperor penguins on the Antarctic Peninsula, the Falkland Islands or South Georgia?

While you will see a lot of penguins in all three locations, you will not see emperors. Emperors are found at Snow Hill Island in the Weddell Sea and requires taking a specialty emperor voyage that will attempt to visit the colony.
