For those who want to stretch their legs and see more of the polar landscape. A hiking or snowshoeing excursion will take you further from the landing site and may give you the chance to soak up the views from a higher vantage point.

In Antarctica, snowshoes are typically only used in the first half of the season (Nov – Jan) when there is more snow around the landing sites. Later in the season you should be able to hike just fine in the provided waterproof boots.

Participants should have a good level of physical fitness.
